Greatest Give Away winner gets $5,000 travel credit

The Greatest Give Away came to an end, with one lucky winner coming out of a pool of 137 people.

Running on Q98, CJNB, CJNS, and 93.3 The ROCK since early October, the contest involved the hosts journeying around the community to visit different businesses and connect with instant finalists. On Thursday evening, Koreen Bauer came away the winner of a $5,000 travel credit, after the list had been whittled down to two names.

Program Director Nic Fransoo said it was a perfect way to cap off the contest.

“Probably the best winner I’ve ever had [on air],” he said. “The reaction Koreen gave was unbelievable and now she’s got a $5,000 travel credit to go wherever she wants.”

Fransoo added it was a long, but rewarding experience connecting with their various sponsors and hosting at their locations.

While still getting over the shock of winning, Bauer said the credit will definitely go towards a trip to Hawaii.

“I’ll probably take my husband and maybe the kids,” she said. “I’d like to take my sister, but my husband probably won’t let me.”

The names were picked throughout the past month since October 8, with selected listeners having five minutes to call right back and become a finalist.
