Battlefords Housing Authority tenants to provide feedback in survey

The Battlefords Housing Authority (BHA) provides a range of social housing in the area, including seniors’ units, family housing, and other affordable housing options. The authority delivers the programs and services on behalf of the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation.

The local housing authority board requested an operational review be completed by the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, and the survey is part of that process.

The survey results will go back to the Saskatchewan Housing Corp. review team, and then will be shared with the BHA board.

“The board is really looking forward to hearing from tenants, whether it’s good or bad,” Stewart said. “We’re looking at next steps. We’ve done the surveys. What do we do next?”

She said the board will work with management to review everything.

Tenants had the option to use a paper survey or a digital one, to encourage more feedback. The deadline to submit the survey was Nov. 26.

Some tenants from Valleyview Towers 2 seniors housing complex that is managed by BHA have been vocal about a number of their concerns recently.

Stewart said she couldn’t speak to any specific matters at this point.

The board hopes the survey would be able to reflect the bigger picture, for all residents in all the authority’s facilities.
