Trevor Logan steps down as assistant coach

Nov 30, 2021 | 3:16 PM

The Melfort Mustangs announced on Nov. 30 that Trevor Logan has stepped down as assistant coach, due to family and an increase in work obligations.

Logan joined the Mustangs to begin the 2019/2020 season and has been with the team through the last two-and-a-half seasons.

Replacing Logan as assistant coach is a familiar face to Mustang fans as Dan Meyers will be returning behind the bench for the remainder of the season.

Meyers had previously served as Mustangs assistant coach for four seasons from 2015 to 2019, winning one Canalta Cup, and making another SJHL Final.

In a press release sent to northeastnow, the Mustangs organization said the change will not alter their plans on the ice, as they look to make a deep run this post-season.

“The change behind the bench will not change the goals of the Melfort Mustangs for this season as we push towards the playoffs,” said president Jordan Lee. “It will be good to see a familiar face to the Mustangs organization behind the bench as we move through this season. The Mustangs would like to thank Trevor for his time behind the bench with the club and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
