A number of Humboldt Broncos are on the list for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s (SJHL) players of the month list.

The Broncos finished the month and the year number one in the SJHL with a 6-1 win/loss record for December thanks in part to Connor McGrath and Braiden Koran.

LeRoy, Sask.’s McGrath earned 15 points in seven games during the month of December. McGrath, along with linemates Koran and Alex Morozoff, combined for 38 points through those seven games during six wins and one loss in December.

Speaking with McGrath earlier in the season, he told northeastNOW his linemates have been finding each other in good positions to rack up those points for the green and gold.

Going into the second half of the season, McGrath said there are a lot of rebound opportunities in front of the net the Broncos can take advantage of as well as a need to keep working for the entire 60 minutes of play.

“If we just keep working hard every night should be good.”

Koran himself as well picked up some SJHL Forward of the Month honours for his performance last month with nine goals across a five-game stretch last month. With 14 points in seven games, Koran trailed only McGrath’s for top points the league lead for the month.

Rayce Ramsay also made the list of runner up for goalie of the month.
