Even with the 2021/22 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season still going strong, the Humboldt Broncos are looking forward to the next season as they begin to sign new potential players to don the green and gold.

The organization announced their first commitment for the 2022/23 season today with 2004-born forward Issac Gordon being welcomed to the team.

Gordon is currently playing with the Eastman Selects of the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League where he has racked up nearly two points per game this year with 52 points, 32 goals and 20 assists in 27 games so far.

Broncos head coach Scott Barney said in a recent press release the team is excited to sign this “elite offensive talent” while Gordon also has other qualities that will benefit the team.

“He played his first year of U18 AAA hockey as a 15-year-old, and since then you can see his development continue to excel at a very high curve. Finally, in the talks we’ve had with him, he brings great character traits on and off the ice.”

According to the Humboldt Broncos, many more commitments will be announced in the coming weeks.
