North Stars Tuesday tilt postponed, host Flin Flon Saturday

Jan 10, 2022 | 4:28 PM

Hockey fans in the Battlefords will have to wait till later this season to see their North Stars in action against the Nipawin Hawks.

The announcement came over the weekend, when the North Stars split their games against Melville and Humboldt. Nipawin had previously postponed their Saturday game against Yorkton and further postponed their contest this Wednesday against Kindersley.

This comes on the heels of teams trying to navigate players testing positive for COVID-19. So far, 11 games have been rescheduled or postponed since Dec. 30.

However, fans can still catch home games soon with the North Stars hosting the Flin Flon Bumbers Saturday and Sunday. This is a critical matchup, with the Bombers sitting just two points back of the Stars for fourth place. Start times are 7:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. respectively.

The Stars are 2-1 to start the second half of the 2021-2022 SJHL season, with a record of 21-10-4-1. There’s 22 games to go, including this weekend’s home-stand. You can listen to the Napa North Stars Hockey Broadcast on 1050 CJNB, where Marty Martinson kicks off the Ultra Print Pregame Show a half hour before puck drop.
