Broncos lose after game contested, follow up with win at home
Tensions were high as the Humboldt Broncos finished up a home and home series with a win against the Melfort Mustangs on home ice.
Fans got an extra bit of Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action as the Melfort Mustangs contested the results of the Jan. 14 game. As a result, the Broncos and Mustangs replayed the last 9:37 with a brand new result.
With two goals from Nolan Doell for the Mustangs, including an empty-netter, the Mustangs took back the W from the Broncos, who had previously won 4-3 in overtime, in a 5-3 win.
New assistant coach, Carter Hansen, told northeastNOW the Melfort team had to do what they thought was right for them.
