The Humboldt Broncos righted some old wrongs on Tuesday night after an on-the-road win in Melvillle.

This is the third meeting of the two teams with Melville winning both previous matches 5-3 and giving the Broncos one of only three losses in 18 home games so far this season.

This is now a two game winning streak for the Broncos after taking the victory against Melfort on Saturday. In the last 10 games the Broncos have recorded seven wins and three losses.

Broncos forward Connor McGrath is continuing his own streak with the first goal of the game early in the first period against Melville making this the 14th game where he has earned points. With 21 goals and 38 assists in 39 games, McGrath has also maintained the top skater position for both the Broncos and league leaderboards with 59 total points.

Fellow forward Braiden Koran also earned some valuable points against Melville as he scored back to back goals in the second to bring the Broncos ahead 3-1 going into the third period. Defenceman Reilly Mckinnon scored his third of the year to finish the game 4-1 for the Broncos.

With 18 goals and 24 assists in 40 games, Koran is currently seventh on the SJHL top skater leader board.

For the second time this season, the Bronco are also celebrating defenceman Noah Barlage as he earned the defenceman of the week award courtesy of the SJHL.

With a goal and an assist in two games this week, the homegrown Humboldt player now has 28 points this season with a total of five goals and 23 assists.

The SJHL noted that Barlage, “sits one point behind Flin Flon’s Xavier Lapointe for the league-lead from a defenceman.”

Sam Marburg was also recognized for his performance with the Broncos as he earned the runner up forward of the week. Marburg scored two goals in Saturday’s match against Melfort.

Thursday game against the Notre Dame Hounds has been postponed.
