Hospitalizations in COVID-19 increase by 9; close to 13,000 active cases in province

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 increased by nine in Saskatchewan on Sunday, according to the provincial government’s update.

There are now 349 hospitalizations to the virus in the province, the most in the province since the pandemic began. There are 39 patients receiving intensive care, with five in the North Central and two in the North West.

There was one death, bringing the count to 990.

With the 1,188 new COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday, that takes the active case count to 12,720. That accounts for 10.7 per cent of every confirmed COVID-19 case since the pandemic began (117,858 total).

NITHA numbers

There are 65 new cases to report today in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) communities.

There are 215 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 10; Far North West, 12; Far North East, 114; North Central, 72 and North East, 7. 7491 cases (97%) have recovered, and there are 0 hospitalizations.
