Stars top Wings 4-1 for third straight
The Battlefords North Stars completed their back-to-back sweep of Weyburn Wednesday, with a 4-1 win over the Red Wings in North Battleford.
Stars forward, Dylan Esau continued his tear of late, leading the way with a goal and three assists, while Steven Kesslering, Sam Witt, and Tanner Gold also scored a goal each for the Battlefords and Lowen Kenyon stopped 25 of 26 Weyburn shots for the win.
With another goal Wednesday, Stars defenceman, Sam Witt has now scored three in his last six games. (Martin Martinson/battlefordsNOW Staff)Kesslering’s 20th of the season opened the scoring for the Stars midway through the first. Coming shorthanded off a two-on-one rush, Esau found Kesslering alone against the goalie with a behind the back pass, the winger then sniped off-the-post and-in from in front to make it 1-0 and pull into a tie for the team lead in goals this year.
