Local Jiu-Jitsu athletes win medals at Westerns

Hosted by Saskatchewan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the Western Kids Open event was held in Regina over the weekend and four athletes from Prince Albert’s North Wake Martial Arts returned home with medals.

The results were: Erica Jacobson (Silver gi & silver no gi); Deacon Simpso (Silver gi & silver no gi); Mila Eckert (Bronze gi & silver no gi); and Celena Jacobson (Silver gi & silver no gi).

Caleb Ermine travelled to Lethbridge for the Open adult no gi competition and won bronze.

Ermine has also recently signed a contract for a fight with Unified MMA out of Edmonton in May. The fight will be aired on UFC Fight Pass.

As well both Wesley Bowman and Ryan Rohovich have fights coming up on April 28 for a Battlefield Fight League event in Vancouver.

Rohovich (4-4) is scheduled to fight Josh Kiatkowski (5-4) in the featherweight division, while Bowman (0-2) will take on Oguzhan Yalcin (1-0).
