Melfort Chamber looks forward to more events following successful meet-and-greet

Business leaders in Melfort had a chance to meet and talk with other members of the local chamber on Wednesday.

The Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce hosted another meet and greet breakfast at TJ’s Pizza.

Executive director Cam Lee said it was a good turnout, with many business owners coming by talking about everything from economics to the weather.

Lee added he’s thankful more of these events are possible.

“We did one back in June of last year, outside, back when the restrictions were much tighter. But once the restrictions were sort of lifted as far as COVID goes, we started these meetings in January and we do one a month on the second Wednesday of each month.”

The chamber rotates the breakfasts at a different member location each time.

Lee also touched on what the local chamber is working on for the coming months.

“We’re going to host a few different fundraising events but we are still narrowing down the details on those. We do have a date for our Show and Shine, which is our annual car show here in town…it’s June 17 and that’s right in the downtown core.”

He said last year, which was the first event held in nearly two years because of the pandemic, they had over 100 cars.

Lee said they are always looking for more businesses to get involved with the Chamber of Commerce and interested parties can email him at TradeMelfort@Melfort.ca.
