City of NB to hold Community Clean-up for Earth Day
The City of North Battleford is encouraging residents to step outside and help brighten up the community this spring with their Community Clean-up Day.
Coinciding with Earth Day this Friday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Parks and Rec Director with the city, Cheryl DeNeire said the annual event serves as a chance to come together as a community to make a positive difference.
“It’s a time for us to get out in the community and try and beautify North Battleford,” she said. “We have a lot of hidden gems that show up once the snow melts and it takes the whole community to help clean that up. Our parks crew are out there every day now cleaning, but there’s an awful lot of land to get some garbage picked up from the ground.”
Residents can take part in the clean-up individually, or as a business or school/other organization. Equipment such as gloves and bags can be picked up Friday at the Parks Shop on Eighth Avenue, or groups taking part can contact the parks department to have it delivered to them.
