Unity resident Pearl Thomas had a uniquely exciting day this month, winning $100,000.

After initially scanning her Lotto Max ticket on a self-checker at a local store, Thomas thought she had won $10,000. Upon arriving home, she double checked online, and saw the numbers for the extra draw matched hers, making the prize 10 times what she originally thought it was.

“I was extremely happy,” Thomas told Sask Lotteries. “I called my children crying! They thought something was wrong.”

She said she’s been filled with excitement since claiming her prize, given the financial impact it will have.
