He worked magic on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, and he’ll be sticking around Riderville for another year.

Duron Carter has inked a one-year contract extension which the club announced Monday morning.

Carter was the team’s top receiver in 2017 with 1,043 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

He also started one game at defensive back, collecting nine defensive tackles and one interception which he returned 43 yards for a touchdown.

Carter found his way into the hearts of Rider Nation after giving a game ball to a cancer survivor early in the season and by treating fans in Toronto to a movie ahead of the east final.

Before joining the Riders in January of 2017, Carter spent three seasons with the Montreal Alouettes before taking a brief break in 2015 to join the Indianapolis Colts.

Carter and head coach and general manager Chris Jones will address the media via teleconference Monday morning.
