Frontier Centre shows support for Winter Games

As the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games in the Battlefords draws closer, the list of sponsors continues to grow to ensure this is the biggest and best winter games in its history.

 Recently the Winter Games committee received a donation of $10,000 from Terracap Management Inc. (Frontier Centre) to become a gold sponsor for the upcoming games.

Co-chairs David Schell and Rob Rongve along with other committee members were on hand for an official cheque presentation made by Janice Sander, Property Manager of Frontier Centre- Terracap Management and Tina Skinner, VP of Operations, Terracap Management Inc.

Schell said because of the ongoing generosity of the community, the committee has met and surpassed their $700,000 fundraising goal.

The Saskatchewan Winter Games are set to culminate in less than four days in North Battleford beginning with the Sask. Winter Games Torch Relay at City Hall Sunday evening at 6 p.m. followed by the Opening Ceremonies at 7 p.m. at the North Battleford Civic Centre.

Over 1,800 of Saskatchewan’s best athletes will compete in 17 events over the seven-day event with teams from nine different regions of the province.

Battleford, Meadow Lake, Lloydminster and Biggar athletes will be competing in the Rivers West District team.  Other regions represented include Regina, Prairie Central, Lakeland, Northern, Saskatoon, Parkland Valley, South West and South East.

The closing ceremonies will be held on Saturday Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. at the Civic Centre.
