Riders sign contract extension with Charleston Hughes

International defensive lineman Charleston Hughes signed a contract extention through 2019 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Riders acquired Hughes Feb. 2, but just made the announcement on Monday.

The 10-year CFL veteran started with the Calgary Stampeders in June 2018.

In his CFL career, Hughes has registered 412 defensive tackles, 99 quarterback sacks, 38 special-teams tackles and 23 forced fumbles. He’s also played in 11 career playoff games and four Grey Cups.
