CSOs to inspect travel trailers and campers for safety

May 17, 2018 | 1:00 PM

Community safety officers will be checking travel trailers and campers to ensure they meet safety regulations at a check-stop taking place Friday.

Officers will be conducting the check-stop to ensure the vehicles are “still road-worthy after the long winter in storage,” Communications Co-ordinator Susanne Abe in a statement. The CSOs will not be handing out any tickets for violations, Abe said, but will issue inspection notices to ensure owners or operators repair their trailers and campers if problems are identified.

Saskatchewan Government Insurance will be on site to help, and Freedom RV and Sylvester RV will also be on site to help with repairs and parts. The city said Outback RV Service will keep one of its shop bays open that day for any trailers that need a lift for repairs. Owners or operators of the vehicles will need to cover the costs for any parts or repairs required.

The safety inspection will take place at the corner of Highway 4 N and 25th Ave. in North Battleford from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m May 18.
