Meadow Lake’s two grocery stores, Extra Foods and Co-op Marketplace, were recently the target of break-ins and the RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect.

The Meadow Lake RCMP said a lone male broke into a business in the 800-block of Ninth St. W. at approximately 3:30 a.m. Aug. 8 and not long after, the same suspect broke into a business in the 100-block of Second Ave. W.

Representatives from both businesses confirmed with meadowlakeNOW their stores were targeted. Windows were broken, and both stores had staff members working overnight. Security footage from both locations showed the male suspect concealing his identity behind a mask. Officers said he was wearing a grey sweat suit with black sleeves and black stripes down the side of the pants, and the suspect left both scenes driving a grey car.

Meadow Lake RCMP encouraged anyone with information regarding the break-and-enters or any other unsolved crime to contact the Meadow Lake RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
