Whether it was the horses, the farming equipment or the antique cars, the Town of Battleford parade offered plenty to see when it snaked through town Friday evening.

The town had more than 50 entries registered for the event.

Mayor Ames Leslie and Battlefords MLA Herb Cox were among many who chose to ride their horses in the parade.

Leslie said he appreciates the annual event as an opportunity for residents to see what the town has to offer.

"It's a community celebration," he said. "It's 35 years in the making, which is young for a parade, but it's a tremendous way to bring the community together and have a little bit of fun. The whole family can enjoy it all at once. That's part of what we strive for in the town of Battleford"
