New service will soon provide a safe ride home

CAA Saskatchewan drivers who are CAA members and need a little help getting home will soon be able to take advantage of a new CAA service available this fall with Ride Assist.

The company announced the service on Wednesday with spokespeople saying it is aimed to help drivers who need a ride due to various reasons such as personal health issues, or perhaps because they are having vision concerns such as dealing with broken or lost prescription eyewear, as an example. People may also ask for the service when they are physically impaired and unable to drive their own vehicles.

“When you have a CAA membership the individuals are covered to use the service for a set number of times,” Saskatchewan CAA spokesperson Christine Niemczyk said.

The service can also be used if a driver doesn’t feel like they can get their vehicle home safely.
