Two suspects in custody after woman shot in leg

Battlefords RCMP have two suspects in custody after a woman arrived at hospital in North Battleford with a gunshot wound to her leg yesterday.
The RCMP initially responded to a complaint from Battlefords Union Hospital Tuesday afternoon about a woman who went to the Battlefords Union Hospital with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her leg. The injury was described as “very serious.”
When police located the vehicle they identified as being related to the incident, the occupants in the vehicle tried to evade police. The two suspects later abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, however police managed to quickly apprehend them.
The two individuals will remain in custody as the investigation continues. Police report a loaded firearm was recovered from the vehicle.
