Blaine Lake Company pleads guilty in provincial court

A company in Blaine Lake pleaded guilty in provincial court last week after failing to provide requested records.

The records in question stem from employment standards complaints about unpaid wages in late September, to late December of 2016. The company failed to provide the records that were requested by an Employment Standards Officer.

The company, operating as Blaine Lake Gas Plus Creta Pizza was fined $1,000 plus a surcharge of $400 under the Saskatchewan Employment Act.

One charge against the company and two additional charges against the director of the company were withdrawn.

The employment officer determined that employees were owed $598.82 in unpaid wages, which have since been paid out to the employees.
