Two teens facing firearms charges following afternoon arrest

Two young people have been arrested and charged following an incident in the 200 Block of 10th St. E. in Prince Albert Thursday afternoon. 

The Prince Albert Police Service was called around 4 p.m. Thursday for a report of a male in the area with outstanding warrants. A media release from the police said the suspect and another male were located in a parking lot on the Unit Block of 10th St. W. Police arrested and searched the two youths and found one with a concealed sawed-off rifle and ammunition.

A 17-year-old youth from Prince Albert is charged with six firearms-related offences and breaching a youth sentence order in connection with the incident. A 15-year-old boy from Swan River, Manitoba is also facing five charges involving firearms in relation to the matter.

Both are scheduled to appear in court in Prince Albert today.
