Cold, winter-like conditions did not slow down this year’s Melfort Multi-k event.

Nearly 500 people participated in Saturday’s event, driving in to Melfort from all corners of the province. The first person to cross the finish line in the 21-kilometre run was Prince Albert’s Carrie Grant Walker with a time of one hour, 30 minutes and 36 seconds. Prince Albert’s Greg Walker was on her heels with a time of one hour, 30 minutes, and 49 seconds.

In the 10-kilometre walk or run event, Regina’s Gordie Kaban finished first with a time of 43:09. Curtis Strueby from Marysburg came in second with a time of 44:17.

The event, which has been running for eight years, also included a five-kilometre walk/run. and the Scotiabank one-kilometre Fun Run. A full list of results can be found here. Organizers said they were grateful for the help of the over 100 volunters.
