The Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce held its annual general meeting on Wednesday.

At the AGM discussions included the organization’s financial statements from the previous year, along with swearing in the new board of directors.

This year the chamber will be welcoming two new directors into the fold while the other 12 have served on previous boards. The board will as well welcome a new chair in Ian Litzenberger.

Regarding finances, the chamber ran a deficit of just over $3,000. Gord Brown, who serves as the accountant for the chamber attributed much of the deficit to costs associated with staff turnover.

Revenue came from several events — they made just over $10,000 from the Samuel McLeod Business Awards and over $8,000 was generated on the chairman’s night. The golf tournament along with breakfasts, luncheons and dinners also helped generate funds.

Elise Hilderbrandt, CEO of the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce, told paNOW her organization has certain challenges given its makeup and that serving all members can also be a challenge.

“Trying to make sure we meet all of our members needs, we’ve a very large membership, we’ve got a nice range,” she said.

Currently the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce has 416 members who pay dues. One new member joined this year.

Hilderbrandt who took over as CEO for the organization three months ago told paNOW she was thankful for members’ support during the “turmoil the chamber has gone through in the last twelve months.” Hilderbrandt is the third CEO to take the wheel in the past year.

“Thank you so much,” she said when speaking about the members.
