A Prince Albert four-year-old is making a habit of trying to get his mom to chase police cars.

Melissa Kenny said her son Sean, has wanted to be a police officer since he was three but over the last few months he’s been really interested in meeting a police officer in person.

“We always drive around and (a police car) would drive by us and he would always say ‘Mom chase that cop … go get them I want to talk to them,’” Kenny said.

Finally, earlier this month, after a dentist appointment, Kenny thought it would be nice to take Sean by the police station.

“He had no idea, it was a surprise, I went in to ask if they could meet him and little did I know that one of the people that was working at the desk that was a cop,” she explained. Cst. Matthew Mesenchuk had a chat with Sean and a picture of the pair was posted on the Facebook page of the Prince Albert Police Service.

When the officer came out, Kenny said Sean was so excited and was even showing the constable the tooth he had pulled at the dentist that morning.

Kenny said whatever Sean wants to do when he’s older, she’ll support him one hundred per cent.

She encouraged all police officers to take the time to meet with kids like Sean.
