Growing market access was the focus of a recent trade mission to China.

Agriculture minister Lawrence MacAulay concluded the 10-day visit, which included the signing of 18 agriculture and agri-food agreements worth over $353 million.

MacAulay led his country’s delegation at the Canada Pavilion during the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, where over 100,000 people visited. Approximately 60 Canadian companies were part of the business exhibition.

MacAulay also met with his counterpart, China’s minister of agriculture and rural affairs, Han Changfu to discuss canola, biotechnology and science cooperation.
