It is with great sadness that the Hargrave family announce the passing of their mother Aldona Hargrave at the age of 93 years on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK.

Aldona was born on October 2, 1925 to Harold and Lilah McMahon in Perdue, SK.  She met Evan Ralph Hargrave in Nipawin, SK and they married February 5, 1946. Aldona and Evan raised their family of four children Don, Lois, Harold and Shirley in Bjorkdale, SK.  She always kept busy knitting, curling, baking, playing cards and having lots of friends drop by for coffee.  Mischief was sure to occur when Mavis, Margaret and Aldona got together. Once the family moved to Prince Albert, she started her employment in retail both at Woolworths and Sears.  She always had time for her children and family. She enjoyed taking in Raider games, motorhome adventures, camping and especially campfires.  Aldona’s grandchildren were always very involved in her life in all these adventures and more.  During winter months she always found time to make her way to Arizona with Evan and Janet and enjoyed her bus trips to Minot with Audrey and Sharon. Aldona’s quick sense of humour, love for family and friends was always shown with a joke, a hug or your favourite meal or dessert.  Each and everyone of the people she came into contact with felt special and loved.

Aldona was predeceased by her husband: Evan Ralph Hargrave in 1997, her siblings: Ervin (Hilda) McMahon, Audrey (Bud) Moss, and grandson Chaz Barnes. Aldona’s memory will be forever cherished by her four children: Don (Roberta) Hargrave, Lois (Skip) Jerome, Harold (Debbie) Hargrave and Shirley (Lester) Barnes, grandchildren: Kevin (Alicia) Hargrave, Darryl Hargrave, Chelle (Kevin) Jones, Stuart (Annabelle) Jerome, Jason Spoonheim, Lori Hargrave, Darren (Cheryl) Hargrave, Brenda (Glenn) King, Kim (Glen) Barnes, and Michelle (Lyndon) Holm, great-grandchildren: Jonah Hargrave, Dayton Hargrave, Jayden Hargrave, Grayden Jones, Poppy Jones, Sasha Reed, Avyn Hargrave, Laurenne Hargrave, Luke Hargrave, Michael (Jacy) King, Nicholas King, Kaitlyn King, Jordon Barnes-Ogilvy (Devon Swystun), McKenzie (Kaylin) Ogilvy, Dawson Holm and Logan Holm, sister Sharon (Clifford) Head as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. There are too many people near and dear to her heart to mention and recognize individually.

 Funeral Service will be held at Crossroads Pentecostal Church, 1510 Olive Diefenbaker Drive, Prince Albert, SK on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ches Jacobs presiding. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Donations in Aldona’s memory can be made to STARS Air Ambulance, 2475 Airport Road, Saskatoon, SK S7L 1M4.
