Carissa Shyne Serene Ballantyne was born on Sunday, February 25, 1996 in Flin Flon, MB and passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the age of 21 years. Carissa is survived by her loving family: her children, Grant Beau and Keeva Isabella; her loving parents, Lucy, Joey & Gail and Jerry & Colleen; her sisters, Myrna (Blair) McCallum, Kristin (Billy), Kelly (Ralph), Adelaide Canada and Cheyanne (Tristan) Bloomfield; her brothers, Gilbert (Diandra), Scott, Steven, Jerry Bloomfield Jr., Faron, Joseph, Tiger Ballantyne and River Linklater; her grandparents, Gilbert & Clara Linklater and Josephine Ballantyne; her maternal aunties, Miriam (Ernest) Custer, Glenda (Marcel) Merasty, Jackie (Gilford) Cook and Joannie Linklater; her uncles, Willis McCallum, Ronald, Kenny, Gilbert Jr. (Jackie) and Clarence (Jackie) Linklater; her paternal aunt, Serena (Donald) Linklater; her paternal uncle, Georgie Ballantyne; her nieces, Karalyn, Karalie, Mia, Kalista, Kaleisha, Lavinia, Larissa, Leighla, Sunshine, Lyric, Kalea, Karmyn, Karianna, Raylene, Faylene and Aryssa; and her nephews, Blair Jr., Blaine, William, Brandt, Robin, J. Kolbey, Nicholas, Nelan, Gilbert Jr., Troyce, Nixon, Taylor, Jerome, Jared, Faron Jr., Chace and Liam. She was predeceased by her sister, Katrina Emily Rose; her grandfather, Absolom (Tiger) Ballantyne; her aunties, Claudia Ballantyne and Tina Linklater; her niece, Kalina “Putehy” McKay; her cousins, Steven Linklater, Stuart Cook, Lynette Linklater and Wilfred Canada; and her great-grandparents, Peter & Catherine Linklater, Athanais & Eliza McCallum, Lazarus & Helen Ballantyne, Joseph Thomas and Pelagie Ballantyne. A prayer service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at River Park Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK, Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Carissa’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Pelican Narrows, SK, Father Joseph officiating.
