Dr. Tilak Malhotra

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Tilak Raj Malhotra MBBS, RCP (Ireland), MRCP (London), MRCP (Scotland) loving father, and husband. Tilak passed peacefully on July 17th, 2017. Tilak was predeceased by his parents Ramlal and Lajwanti Malhotra and his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife Dr. Lalita Malhotra, his daughter Sara (husband, Jason; their children, Shail, Kavi, Ila); son Rohin (wife, Surbhi; their children, Shreyas and Kayva); daughter Unjali (husband, Gerry; daughter, Milana);
sisters-in-law Madhu Atrey (daughter, Manasi husband Vikas and grandson, Verain); Prem Gupta (son, Sonjoy wife Anne) and other family abroad. Tilak was born in Punjab, India where he met and married Lalita and obtained his Medical Degree. Together, they moved to the United Kingdom where he furthered his post graduate medical training by successfully completing three postgraduate fellowships in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. Tilak and Lalita moved to Prince Albert in 1975 where he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In Prince Albert, Tilak provided more than 40 years of service to the community as a Pediatrician. He has contributed immensely to the National, Provincial and local medical communities. He was the first Pediatrician from Saskatchewan to be asked to participate on the National Board for the Canadian Pediatrics Society. He served as a Council Member on the College of Physicians and Surgeons Saskatchewan. He was the Chair of the Credentials Committee for Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. Tilak served as Vice President of the Regional Medical Association. He also participated in many other provincial and local health committees/boards. For his many years of dedicated service, he was awarded the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. His contributions to the community will forever be remembered. Tilak’s great pride was his family, he was a loving father and husband who instilled the importance of education and hard work in his children. His legacy as a father will always live on in his children. In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made to the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan 107 La Ronge Road, Saskatoon, SK S7K 5T3. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Plaza 88, 888 Central Avenue, Prince Albert. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
