It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monique Marie Murielle Grenier (née Vachon) on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Rosthern Hospital at the age of 81 years. Monique leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her loving husband of 59 years, Dollard, her children: Yvonne (Jim) Kruppi, Greg Grenier, Peggy Besharah, Tom (Eduina) Grenier and Debbie (Doug Nelson) Grenier; her grandchildren: Steven (Stacy) Green, Richard (Christie) Green, Tyler Grenier, Kayla Grenier and Sergio Nelson; her great grandchildren: Kail, Alexa & Erik Green; her siblings: Gerald (Claudia) Vachon, Olive Bodnarchuk, Patricia (Michel) Vachon, Gaetan (Lorraine) Vachon & Louise (Mike) Vachon-Raque; her sister-in-law Linda Lutz, as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Monique was predeceased by her parents Alfred Vachon and Yvonne Paré, her step-mother Laura Vachon, her brother Denis Vachon and her brother-in-law Peter Bodnarchuk. Monique loved life and liked to joke around. She worked as a teller at the Bank of Montreal, taught sewing, worked for Home Care for 10 years and was a professional seamstress. Monique had many interests including sewing and gardening, canning, friends, socializing, going to flea markets and Casino trips with Dollard and of course spending time with family and friends and her grandkids. Monique also enjoyed making many care packages for everyone. The Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Both Services will be held at the St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church in Bellevue with Rev. Fr. Phong Tran as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Isidore Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Monique may be directed to the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge.
