Ted Lorenz

Posted Jun 28, 2018 | 6:54 PM

Ted passed away peacefully at his home at Christopher Lake at the age of 83 on Sunday, June 24, 2018, following a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Ted was born in Saskatoon on March 30, 1935, to Frank and Pauline. He attended school in Saskatoon and later went to work for the CPR as a yard foreman for 39 years. He married Carole Moffat on June 27, 1959. He, Carole and family lived in Prince Albert until 1963 and then moved to Saskatoon where they lived until Ted’s retirement in 1990.

Since that time, Ted and Carole lived at Christopher Lake, the year-round gathering place for the large, close-knit Lorenz family, relatives, and friends. He loved to have his family together and enjoyed the constant noisy chaos and laughter when everyone was home, especially at Christmas.

Ted was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Pauline, his parents’ in-law, Russel and Violet Moffat, infant twin Audette grandsons, brother-in-law, Metro Bukurak, and nephew, Jared Moffat.

Ted is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carole and his five “girls”, Kim Kinnear (Jack), Debbie Audette (Jigger), Dawn Debert (Kim), Tracy Germs (Willy) and Sandy Braaten (Rohn), ten grandchildren, Adam, (Kaila), Danny (Kathleen), Lindsay (Glen), Dustin (Jenai), Brittney (Cody), Brandon, Spencer (Jenna), Dillon (Brittni), Taylor, Derek (Julie) and special great-grandsons, Kash and Luke.

In addition to his immediate family, Ted is survived by his sister Lavina Bukurak and family, sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Ron Martin and family, brother and sister-in-law Lorne and Gayle Moffat and family and numerous relatives and friends.

Ted’s wife, Carole, and his five “girls” had the honour of caring for him at home during his final days. Ted’s family is especially grateful to Carole’s sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Ron Martin, and special friends Norm and Linda Lappa for their support and assistance over the course of the last few years.  In addition, the family would like to thank the Prince Albert Health Region Home Care and Palliative Care services for the care provided to Ted.

Ted’s family will celebrate his life privately at Christopher Lake. Family and friends wishing to do so may make donations in Ted’s memory to The Alzheimer Society.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
