VICTORIA MCKENZIE

1947 – 2017

Victoria Nancy McKenzie was born on Tuesday, April 1, 1947 in Brabant Lake, SK and passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in La Ronge, SK at the age of 70 years. Victoria is survived by her loving family: her husband of 51 years, Roderick “Fred” McKenzie; her children, Jeanne Wichihin (Garry) and children, Chantelle, Shianne, Denishia, Haileigh and Feather, Lena McKenzie (Randy) and children, Cheryl and Jonathan, Wally McKenzie and children, Grant, Roddy, Megan, Kristyn, Hillary, Blaine, Thomas, Tucker, Georgina and Gerrison, Loretta McKenzie and children, Maxine, Rachell, Damien, Robyn, Michayla, Kayla and Morgan, George McKenzie (Marcy) and children, Morley, Jared, Joel, Shayla, Shayleen, Sekwun and Seline, Marilyn McKenzie (Chris) and children, Darin, Lacey, Amber and Nicole, Nancy McKenzie and children, Melissa, Whitney, Carla and Robin, and Michael McKenzie and children, Kayode, Cassie, Chad, Dawson, Danielle, Kyrsten, Mikey, River, Taya and Kourtney; her special grandchildren, Hailey Charles, Chad McKenzie and Amber McKenzie; her 31 great-grandchildren; her adopted daughter, Norma Clarke (Mike); her adopted son, John P. Roberts (Lisa); her stepmother, Rosie Cook; her brothers, Peter Donald “Bob” Charles (Rosaleen), Ernest (Susan) Cook, Andy (Patricia Cook) and Harry (Margo) Cook; her step-brothers, Joe P. Roberts (Mary), Isiah (Grace) Roberts and William Roberts; her step-sisters, Annie McLeod (John), Teresa McLeod (Walter) and Sallie McLeod (Antoine); her aunts and uncles, Helen Visentine, Maggie Cook, Moses McKenzie (Jean), Sally Milne, Barb Sinclair, Ben McKenzie (Mary) and John Jeho McKenzie; her sisters-in-law, Bella Charles (Walter), Nancy McLeod (Norman), Kathy McKenzie and Jemima Cook; and her best friend, Miriam Cook; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas & Jeannie (nee McKenzie) Cook; her adopted parents, Joel & Maggie Jean McKenzie and Flora Hastings; her son in infancy, Zephaniah; her grandson, Kourtney Cook; her adopted son, Frederick McKenzie; her sister, Lorna Anderson; her grandparents, Mary Ann & Thomas McKenzie; her uncles, Abraham Cook (Alice), Fred Cook, Zacharius McKenzie, David McKenzie (Jeannie) and Walter McKenzie; her aunts, Bella Charles and Amelia Charles; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roderick and Rosie McKenzie; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe McKenzie, Wally McKenzie (Ida), Lena Cook (Stan), Lawrence McKenzie and Jean McKenzie (Henry Reitberger); and her best friend, Alice Thimpsen; as well as numerous other relatives. A wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission, SK. Victoria’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission, SK, Reverend Richard Custer and Reverend Elias Ballantyne officiating. Interment to follow at Stanley Mission Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Lac La Ronge Funeral Home in La Ronge, SK, 306-425-3666, Debra Klassen, Funeral Director, and River Park Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK, 306-764-2727, Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
