WALTER DAVIDSON
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Walter Strevett Davidson. He passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017 while having coffee with a friend. Walter was born on April 9, 1923 at the farm in Crescent Hill near Kinistino, SK. He met Emily Vennard in 1948 and they were married on January 11, 1949. Walter and Emily lived six years on the farm in Kinistino. In 1955 they left the farm and moved to Prince Albert. Walter worked at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary for 30 years. He was a Scout leader for many years and served with his church. Emily and Walter enjoyed their summers at their Murray Point cabin. Walter went to the lake every summer, enjoying the peace and quiet that surround him. Many family and friends stopped in for a visit, coffee and great conversation. The love of his life, Emily passed away in 2010, they were married for 61 years, now together forever. Walter leaves to mourn his loving family: Jim (Colleen) of Saskatoon, John (Kathy) of Fort St. John, BC and Doug (Wendy) of Fort St. John; his grandchildren Eric (Cheryl) and his great-grandson Noah of Calgary, AB, Michael (Kelsey) of Halifax, Chris of Fort St. John, Cameron of Vancouver, BC, Andrea (Tyrel) of Grande Prairie, AB, Alysha (Shannon) and Kyle of Vancouver; his brother Willie (Shirley) Davidson of Shellbrook; his sister Jan (Len) Breault of Summerland, BC as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Margaret “Daisy” Davidson; his brother George (Kath); his sisters Mary (John) Thomas and Margaret (Bill) Boyd; his parents-in-law John and Edith Vennard. A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 at River Park Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Susan Salo will officiate. Interment with take place in the Garden of Devotion, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials in lieu of flowers may do so to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
