A number of grassroots movements have sprung forth to help the 80,000 Fort McMurray evacuees, the latest being local donation collectors planning to convoy to evacuation sites.

John Paul II athletic director wins province-wide award

John Paul II Collegiate’s athletic director Vic Stynsky received some provincial-wide recognition recently for his dedication as a physical education teacher. He was the recipient of the 2016 Paul Renwick award, given annually for outstanding contributions in physical education.
