Rainfall causes havoc in RM of Frenchman Butte
The rain has caused havoc across Saskatchewan, including in St. Walburg and the RM of Frenchman Butte.
As a result of the excessive rainfall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 15 roads were washed out including major thoroughfares in the municipality. There hasn’t been an end to the damage as of yet, as the water continues moving through the municipality, and we also do expect further rain in the near future.
Bonnie Mills Midgley, Reeve of the RM of Frenchman Butte #501 sees the problem, and said members at the RM is doing all they can to locate and begin to fix the issues.
“The municipality is focusing on identifying the roads with major problems,” Mills Midgley said. “Either blocking them off- closing those roads if need be to keep the traveling public safe- or to flag the locations where the road is still passable but there are issues around the edge of it.”
