‘It was amazing to watch the exploration,’ teacher says after science fair
Forty-eight Grade 8 students recently participated in their science fair at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.
It started out as just a year-end project, but it turned into much more as the students worked to build not only their projects but also their knowledge of science.
The students were judged on their scientific knowledge, procedures and organization, evaluations and conclusions, as well as creativity and presentation. Grade 8 Teacher Falynn Baptiste said she went from an instructor to a bystander as the students enthusiasm took hold.
“It was amazing to watch the exploration and learning that took place over the last three weeks,” Baptiste said, “and have your role as a teacher change to be purely an observer, offering guidance along the way.”
