CROP REPORT: Farmers finishing up haying, much needed rain improves crops
Farmers continue haying as recent rain helped to improve crops in most areas.
At 54 per cent, livestock producers now have the majority of their hay crops baled or put into silage, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture’s weekly Crop Report.
Hay quality is currently rated at 52 per cent good. Hay yields on dry land are well below average for the year.
Rain showers have delayed the haying process in some areas.
