When it comes to making the big bucks at city hall, Prince Albert City Manager Jim Toye leads the pack.

The 2016 consolidated financial statements for Prince Albert municipal employees shows Toye taking home more than $212,000. The next highest paid employee is the Director of Financial Services Joe Day at more than $195,000. Fire Chief Jason Everitt received more than $182,000 while his crime fighting counterpart Police Chief Troy Cooper received more than $169,000.

Deputy Police Chief Jeffery Rowden took home roughly $154,000.

The best-paid department was the police service at $12.3 million followed by the public works department at $7.5 million and the fire department at $5.8 million

In total, the city’s payroll cost taxpayers $44.4 million.

Mayor Greg Dionne’s salary was $89,040. He also received $2,680 for travel.

The highest paid city councillor was Don Cody at $33,055. He also received $1,323 in travel expenses. Ward 1 Coun. Charlene Miller was the next highest paid at $31,951 in addition to $2,818 in travel expenses.

Ward 8 Coun. Ted Zurakowski received $29,851 and $124 in travel expenses.

It should be noted that some councillors didn’t receive their full salary because of the municipal election. Since the election was in October, payments to newly elected councillors would only be to the end of 2016.

This means councillors Evert Botha, Blake Edwards, Terra Lennox-Zepp, Dennis Nowoselsky and Dennis Ogrodnick only received $5,725.
