Police dog tracks alleged thieves to Cornerstone

Daxa the police dog does it again.

Early this morning at roughly 4 a.m., Prince Albert police received a call of a break-and-enter in progress at the Golf and Curling Club. It appeared a rock was used to break a glass window and enter the business, the suspects had already fled when police arrived.

Officers reviewed video surveillance, then Daxa and her handler Const. Kelsey Bighetty were put on the track. Six people matching video footage were located near the Cornerstone Shopping District, and all six were arrested.

They are facing a variety of charges including break and enter, resisting arrest, and breach of court order. Two were also charged with disguise with intent.
