Setting the PACE Race raises over $15,000
The Setting the PACE race had a wonderful event for its ninth year in the community.
The support-based non-profit People Advocating for Children with Exceptionalities (PACE) has run the fundraiser in the Meadow Lake area since 2009. The Setting the PACE Race is the organization’s foremost method of raising funds to help support the various programming and speakers offered in the community.
Race Director Bluesette Campbell was elated at the participation level at the event. Over 150 people were registered for the various types of races, which included a 100-kilometre bike ride, full and half marathons alongside 10, five and two-kilometre lengths. Bikes, runners, strollers, rollers and walkers were welcome.
“Today was excellent, we had a great turnout,” Campbell said after finishing the half-marathon portion. “We had a lot of our PACE families come out. The kids are out there doing something it’s very inspirational, some of our young kids are taking on a 42-kilometre bike race.”
