Fourteen-year-old charged following school incident in Meadow Lake

A 14-year-old male youth from Meadow Lake has been charged following Thursday’s incident at the Gateway Elementary School which forced the school implement its hold and secure procedure.
Meadow Lake RCMP arrested the youth yesterday after reports of a male with a knife was uttering threats at the elementary school.
The youth who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been charged possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
No students or faculty were physically injured during the incident.
