Prince Albert firefighters battled an early-morning blaze on the 1100-block of 15th St. W. Friday.

At roughly 7:45 a.m. crews saw smoke and other signs of an active fire in the basement of the house. The firefighters aggressively attacked the fire and were able to knock down the flames. No one was inside the structure at the time, the fire department reported, and no injuries were sustained.

The fire department has yet to determine the cause of the blaze, though it has been deemed suspicious and an investigation will take place later today.
