Both the federal and provincial governments are investing in the future of Saskatchewan’s livestock industry.

Through the Saskatchewan agriculture development fund, 27 livestock and forage related research projects were given funding during an annoucement in Saskatoon today.

The $7 million dollar commitment also includes new operating grants for the Prairie Swine Centre and the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization.

The research projects include new strategies for grazing, vaccine development and increasing the nutritional value of feed for poultry and cattle.

Friday’s announcement is in additions to the $7.4 million announced earlier for crop related projects.

ADF is a program that supports innovative research, development and value-added activities that will benefit Saskatchewan producers.
