Winds wreak havoc on the area
Residents, businesses, and more in the region are cleaning up today following Tuesday’s hurricane-like winds which wreaked havoc overnight.
Winds reaching 100 km/h are being blamed for sporadic power outages in the city of North Battleford overnight, while residents in Jackfish Lake, Meota, Cut Knife and Luseland spent several hours without power on Tuesday.
Jordan Jackle of SaskPower reported that residents in the area have had their power restored as of this morning with a few exceptions.
“We still have outages being reported in Turtleford and surrounding areas,” said Jackle. “It was a significant storm because 50 per cent of the power grid in the province was affected.”
