Minister pleased with upgrades at Meadow Lake Provincial Park
To get a closer look at the investments made at the Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Gene Makowsky, minister of parks, culture, and sport, visited some of the staff and facilities today.
In 2018-2019, the ministry has invested $2.7 into upgrades at the park, including fixing buildings, roads, water and, electrical expansions. Across the northwest, including Battlefords Provincial Park, $6.7 million has been spent this year.
Makowsky said it was important for him to stop by in person, as it was his first time seeing the park. After viewing it up close, he said the park is beautiful and he understands why there are so many visitors.
“We’ve put some extensive capital dollars into this wonderful park in the last few years,” he said. “It includes a couple of new service centres at Kimball and Greig Lake, the campsite, some road surfaces to be repaired, and a new boat launch at Greig Lake as well. Also, the roof at the interpretive centre is getting replaced.”
