Saskatchewan’s NDP leader, Ryan Meili, has announced new roles for several MLAs, including Prince Albert’s local party representative.

Prince Albert Northcote representative Nicole Rancourt was named the party’s new Social Services Critic. Rancourt, a registered social worker by training, also takes on the role of critic for housing, community-based organizations and Saskatchewan Government Insurance.

Meili made the announcement Tuesday, naming several other Saskatchewan NDP representatives to new roles as well. Cumberland MLA Doyle Vermette was also part of the shuffle, taking on the new job of party whip, critic for Northern Saskatchewan and Associate Critic for First Nations and Métis Relations. Buckley Belanger becomes critic for Highways and Infrastructure, Energy and Resources and Forestry.
