UPDATE: Firefighters dealing with fire at grain facility near Unity

UPDATE: RCMP were still at the scene of the fire as of 3 p.m. Thursday. Police said in a release that emergency crews were called out around 7:20 a.m. Thursday. Police say the fire is contained to the facility’s grain dryer, although the main offices were evacuated as well. RCMP say staff were working at the elevator when the fire started, and the cause of the blaze is not believed to be criminal. 

Unity RCMP continue to remind motorists along Highway 14 to steer clear of emergency vehicles, and avoid stopping along the highway as it could be risky to those working in the area.

Unity RCMP are asking drivers traveling on Highway 14 near Unity not to pull over on the highway while emergency crews deal with a fire at North West Terminals grain facility today.
 
Police say drivers have been creating a hazard for emergency crews responding at the scene.
