House fires deemed suspicious

North Battleford RCMP have deemed the cause of a house fire last week in North Battleford to be suspicious.

They confirmed the fire last Thursday afternoon on June 8 started at a property at 1722 Centennial Crescent.

During the incident, the fire then quickly spread to the house next door at 1732 Centennial Crescent.

Battleford’s RCMP Const. Tara Anderson said police are working closely with the RCMP’s own fire inspector.

“It is deemed suspicious but it is still an open investigation now,” she said. “If anyone has any information that would be appreciated.”

Police are continuing to investigate and do not have any suspects at this time.

Anderson said if anyone has any details about the fire they should contact the local RCMP, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) where people can leave an anonymous tip.
